Discovery
- Where does the lead data come from?
- Google Places, filtered to your jurisdiction and what you sell. Each candidate is then checked for an existing web presence, recent reviews, active hours, and whether the listed contact email is deliverable. We don’t scrape personal profiles. We don’t buy data lists. The leads you find are the leads you act on.
- How does Findby decide which leads to surface?
- The default ranking favours businesses whose web presence is missing, broken, or visibly outdated — then layers in recent reviews, active hours, and deliverability of the listed contact. The weights are tunable from settings if your sales motion looks different from ours.
- Which jurisdictions are supported today?
- Discovery and outreach are gated to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Each region’s rules are enforced at the send gate — CAN-SPAM, CASL, and PECR-aligned consent — and addresses outside the supported set are held until the jurisdiction opens.
- Can I export the leads I find?
- Yes. CSV export is available from any lead view. The leads belong to you; if you cancel, you leave with the data you found.
Demo sites
- Who pays for the demo sites I generate?
- The demo generation is included in your plan. If the prospect signs and you want to ship the demo as their production site, the hosting and the deal belong to you. Findby doesn’t host the live site and doesn’t take a cut of what you sell.
- Can I customise the demo templates?
- Three templates ship by default — bakery / restaurant, services (auto, dental, salon), and retail. Per-prospect details (copy, photos, awning colour) fill in automatically from the discovery context. Heavier template customisation lives on the Agency plan.
- Where do the demo sites live?
- Each demo gets its own subdomain on newshop.studio — e.g.
bellas-bakery.newshop.studio— a URL the prospect can click without it reading like a preview link. The demo stays live for 90 days after the lead enters “Site built” and renews each time you re-engage them.
Outreach & deliverability
- Do I send from my own email address?
- Yes. Connect your own domain (Postmark and SES are wired today) and we verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC before the first send. New domains enter a measured ramp so reputation builds the way mailbox providers actually want it to — gradual volume, low complaint rate, no first-day flood.
- How long does warm-up take?
- 21 days. The ramp starts at roughly 20 sends per day and climbs to your target volume on a schedule mailbox providers don’t object to. Already-warm domains skip the ramp. You watch the curve climb on the dashboard.
- How does the A/B subject test work?
- Two subject lines split the first 50 sends in your cohort evenly. The winner is decided by open rate, weighted against complaint rate, and locked in for the remaining sends. The test runs once per cohort. There’s no analytics dashboard to manage — the result is applied automatically.
- What happens to bounces and complaints?
- Both feed into a single suppression list automatically. Any sender that drifts past the complaint threshold pauses itself and surfaces a remediation checklist before resuming. We’d rather pause a send than push you out of compliance.
Account & pricing
- Is there a free trial?
- One full lead end-to-end on the house — discovery, demo site, and drafted outreach. Enough to see whether the pieces fit your workflow before you pay for the second one. No credit card to start.
- How are seats billed?
- Each plan ships with a fixed seat count: one for Starter, three for Growth, ten for Agency. Additional seats beyond the included count aren’t available today — message us if you need more and we’ll work it out.
- Can I cancel any time?
- Yes. Cancel from the billing page and the subscription stops at the end of the current cycle. Consumer purchases get a 14-day refund window via the Stripe Billing Portal; B2B purchases with a valid VAT ID skip that window but can still cancel any time.
- Do you integrate with my CRM?
- CSV export covers the common cases today. Native HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Attio integrations are on the roadmap and will ship when the data round-trips cleanly — not sooner, because half-working integrations cost more time than they save.
Boundaries
- What does Findby deliberately not do?
- Findby doesn’t replace your CRM. It doesn’t buy or sell data lists. It doesn’t scale to enterprise teams. It doesn’t claim an AI writes a better cold email than someone who knows the industry firsthand. The judgment and the relationship stay with you — we ship the production work that goes in front of both.
- How does Findby handle privacy?
- We store only what the product needs: public business records, your sender identity, and the leads you’ve acted on. We don’t sell data. We don’t share it with third parties for marketing. Delete-on-request runs within the windows the applicable regulation requires.
